Group Eleven Unearths Significant 11.8m Zinc Discovery at Ballywire; Signals Emergence of New Zinc-Rich Massive Sulphide Zone!
The Ballywire project, situated in the Republic of Ireland, has recently produced exciting developments for Group Eleven, a mineral exploration company with a specific focus on zinc-rich deposits. The project has consistently uncovered mineral intersections rich in zinc, lead, and silver, with a significant find of 11.8 meters containing 11.6% zinc and lead (Zn+Pb), and 48 g/t silver (Ag). These results have pointed to the emergence of a new, zinc-rich, massive sulphide zone at Ballywire, sparking interest from experts within the mineral exploration industry and potentially heralding a significant uptick in the global zinc supply.
Initially, these remarkable intersections were found in two drill holes (BW-20-02 and BW-20-03) located in the south-eastern portion of the large Ballywire prospect. Additionally, a massive sulphide zone measuring 5.5 meters has been identified within drill-hole BW-20-03, containing 14.1% Zn+Pb and 65.6 g/t Ag.
Furthermore, due to these findings, additional studies and surveys were commissioned. The results of the borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) survey identified that the mineral stringer zone extends to at least 150 meters and the substantial sulphide occurrence can be traced back for up to at least 75 meters along strike.
This exploration program was launched under the base-metal alliance between Group Eleven and noted industry powerhouse, Glencore. The focus on the Stonepark and adjacent PG West project, marks the largest land position in the Limerick Basin – considered to be one of the most prolific zinc districts in the world – and home to the world-class Pallas Green deposit (understood to contain an estimated 45 million tonnes at 8% Zn+Pb), just 10 km west of Ballywire.
There has also been a significant find of 27.1 meters of 7.9% Zn+Pb and 28.6 g/t Ag in the follow up drilling. Notably, lower grade reportings also contribute to the exploration project potential, as they extend the mineralized zone along the projected trend.
While these findings point to a potentially lucrative future for Group Eleven, these preliminary interpretations require further testing and drilling to confirm the characterization and the extent of the mineralized zone. However, these investigations have provided valuable input for the company’s ongoing 3D-geological model of the area and have identified several factors that could influence the geology of the Ballywire prospect.

Worth noting is that the returns from projects such as Ballywire are not immediate, as further exploration, testing, and analysis are required before these potential resources can be extracted and converted into productive uses.
